Lighting crew is responsible for designing lighting, hanging lights, programming shows, and running lighting for shows. Lighting crew consists of two board ops, who are responsible for programming and running shows, and two to four spot ops, who are responsible for running spotlights during shows. Lighting crew also meets on Saturdays with the stage crew to hang lights and meets every night in the week before a show to program the lights for a show. As a member of lighting crew, you will learn about the principals of theatrical lighting, basic electric concepts, and programming. Lighting crew is run by Nolan Sayer, the Lighting Crew Head, and Len Schnabel, the principal at Design Light.
